Everybody in the internet marketing world knows that affiliate marketing is one of the easiest and fastest way to make money online. Many successful online entrepreneurs started out in affiliate marketing and many still practice it. This is probably due to the fact you don't need much or any money at all to start; you don't even need a website.
Free media such as blogs and Squidoo have taken over, to some extent, the role of the traditional website in presenting affiliate products to the masses. This is evident by the increasing number of blogs and squidoo lenses that have achieved preferential rankings in search results from search engines such as Google. So don't fret if you don't have a website to start, you can still find success in affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing strategy- Possible blueprint:
1. Select a product to promote.
Start out by doing some research about what's selling online and what's not.
You can use resources such as Clickbank or Paydotcom, among others, to select your products to promote.

2. Create a Website or a blog, or a Squidoo lens
Write content relative to your product. This could be an article, a review page, or any type of relevant information discribing your product. At the end of your article or review, you will have a link pointing to the merchant's website.

3. Send "massive" targeted traffic to your Site
This is the lifeblood of your affiliate marketing business, or for any business for that matter. Without traffic there are no customers and no money. There are numerous methods for accomplishing this, some are free, and some you have to pay for.

The above blueprint is perhaps oversimplified, but can be used as a starting point if you are just beginning an affiliate marketing career. It is important to keep in mind, however, that success in affiliate marketing will not come overnight, regardless of what you read or what you hear. In every step of the way there is work to be done. Go over what you have learned so far, establish a realistic work plan and stick to it, making adjustments and changes along the way until you've reached your goal.
